skunk 2 camgears

I was wondering if any body had a third genration LS integera with cam gears? what did you advance and deadvance and how many degres? I have skunk 2 camgears and a stock block with full exhaust and a drag 3 turbo kit that has not yet been installed

Dyno tuning is the only way to set them at the best place.

yeah, the dyno is the only way to see a change, even a guy with experience tuning cam gears will still have to make a few runs before he finds a gain. saw in turbo mag one time when they were dyno testing a cam gear install. they did like 8 runs before they ended up with a 5hp gain. and they tried a wide range of settings on both cams, so unless you can rent the dyno cheap, let the guy with experience do it.

but in your case, I wouldn't pay someone to tune them just because you're gonna install the turbo kit and that will change everything. how the tune them for NA would probably be different than turbo.

i agree w/ the others...once you take your car to the dyno..your car will finally be properly tuned to its max performance! thats when you'll benefit off your cam gears. every motor is different so you cant go by what people tell you
